December meetup

Woohoo our second meetup is coming up soon! Trust us when we say it's going to be as awesome as the first one!

Doors will open at 6:30pm and talks will start at 7pm. There will be some drinks and snacks, but we recommend you getting some dinner beforehand so you don't get hungry and grumpy :)

Fancy File Inputs

Sean Curtis  @seancurtis

Enhance the usability and appearance of one of the most frustrating-to-style html elements.

Sean is a passionate web developer from Sydney who works on the JIRA team at Atlassian. He lives and breathes HTML/CSS, is currently obsessed with website performance, usability and accessibility.

From mess to SCSS

Jonathan Barnett @indieisaconcept

Adopting SASS may be solving one set of problems but can also create others. Are you or your team ready to learn a new framework? Do you even have the time? How easy can you integrate it into your existing workflow?

Jonathan will share his insights into how SASS became an integral part of Front End Development at News Corp Australia and some of the challenges he and his team faced along the way.

Jonathan is a Front End Architect at News Corp Australia where he specialises in streamlining development practices, building custom development tools and establishing re-usable frameworks.

When he’s not hacking away at his latest project you’ll often find him in the mail room picking up his latest awesome albeit delightfully hideous jumper sourced through @etsy.

Great training, it was a bit too technical but I guess I will need to do more homework ;)

Another great event. Well done to two fantastic presenters and to the organisers! Looking forward to next year's events.

It's always great being in a room with folks who are just as passionate as you are about discussing even the smallest points of a broad topic. Can't wait to see if some of the evolutions we raised for the presentations can really take off!

Got a prior engagement but I'll still be along. Slightly rude but I have to juggle — may I sneak in 15 mins late?

    • David L.

No problem, we'll have someone on the door for about 20 minutes after the start time :)

One more sleep!!!! Just a quick reminder that we won't be supplying any catering on the night (other than a few snacks) but fear not this means that groups of your fellow SydCSSers will be dining in an around Surry Hills. Chur Burger was pretty popular last time for pre-meetup dining http://www.churburger.com.au/ El Loco was the destination of choice afterwards

We will always aim to have videos of all our presenters. But the release of the video is always subject to the presenter's final approval :)

My first MeetUp and it was a fun night.

Is there anyway to get a copy of some of what was presented to look over. Or is it all top secret stuff!
