SPEAKERS:

Zoe Lamont

ZOE LAMONT is the founder of social business, 10thousandgirl.com, a life planning and financial literacy program for young women across Australia, linked with a microfinance initiative. She will share how her early career working as a humanitarian volunteer on projects in Zambia, Southern India and along the Thai-Burmese border influenced her decision to move from the commercial world into one driven by social impact. Her initiatives and adventures including establishing an illegal design business supporting Burmese teacher training, running in the Senate as a 23 year old and more recently travelling across Australia from Alice Springs to Wagga Wagga to Perth presenting life planning and financial literacy workshops for women.Zoe will share some of the lessons and surprises that have come from building a business - whilst following her heart.

Irene van der Does

After establishing a successful European fashion label, Irene moved to Australia in 2004 and has since honed in on the mechanics of the creative process. She now is an executive coach and has worked with the likes of Vodafone, AMP and Macquarie Bank. Her book Leading by Design will be launched at the end of May and is a practice and a methodology based on design thinking.

Irene on the process of writing her book: "I underwent a major shift during the creation this book as I departed from my comfort zone and tackled wholly unknown forces. Though I am not unfamiliar with such an experience, having emigrated from Holland to Australia 7 years ago, composing a book in what was an unknown language to me was a new and difficult challenge.

Cenk Baban

Cenk is an Online Marketing and Social Media Specialist with a passion for emerging technologies and trends. Another passion is his love for great food. Combining the two led to instigate the Social Dinner Club, bringing food lovers, food professionals and restaurants together in a unique dining event. Food lovers learn more about the ethnic cuisines and cultures, enjoy good food and wine, make new friends and have fun by playing games using Social Media. The event didn't go unnoticed: it's the first event sponsored by Google Sydney, it's followed by over 1000 Sydneysiders and listed among the Top 10 Trends in Australian Retail and Hospitality this year ( Marketing Mag)

Hi there. I've just discovered your site! Very inspiring...I love what you are doing. I'm trying to create a similar event for my local community. I live in Seal Rocks - Pacific Palms, NSW. 3 and a half hours North of Sydney.
I would love to speak with anyone who can give me advice and help me find speakers willing to travel up the coast to paradise for an evening to share their wonderful stories.

    Any help appreciated.

Good people and speakers, I'm looking forward to the next one. I have one suggestion: don't make people hold their questions, but instead do a Q&A right after each speaker. It won't take up that much time, and it fosters communication.

Inspiring to witness the dedication, passion and persistence of presenters converting ideas into reality. Greatly diverse group of attendees from visual artists using paint to visualisers interpreting the immense mathematical complexity of the human genome.

    Thanks Jacqueline, Emma & Monique.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
