12th Meeting

First Erlang meetup for the year and we have something slightly different lined up.

We're going to have a few talks on Elixir

Elixir is a functional, meta-programming aware language built on top of the Erlang VM. It is a dynamic language with flexible syntax and macro support that leverages Erlang's abilities to build concurrent, distributed and fault-tolerant applications with hot code upgrades.

So far we have Stuart lined up to tell us about his experiences using Elixir, but if anyone else would like to present something too please let us know in the comments.

Does anyone have experience with a writting/using a good API of resource scheduler ?

I would want to see if running a particular code might cause a row contention lock in oracle/RDBMS. Or Am I solving the wrong problem ? like should I code similar a optimistic lock and resolve later way.

Is this a right forum to ask this kind of question ?

    Hi All,

Unfortunately Stuart has had to cancel so we won't be having an Elixir talk tonight. The elixir talk being the only organised talk for the evening means we don't really have anything planned.

Everyone is still welcome to come along and just generally socialise and ask any Erlang questions they have. Or just bring along some of your Erlang code and work on it. I'll certainly be coming along to run a few ideas past people for LamdbaJam.

I apologise on behalf of Robin and myself for the mix up.
