Sydney explorers is all about coming together to explore Sydney and beyond, not only the city but its surrounds, further afield throughout Australia and overseas too! Members are welcome to suggest an event if they think something might be great to do in a group.

We travel using public transport, explore the more remote areas by arranging car pooling with no area left unexplored, from the big blue mountains national park (did you know the seven national parks that make up the greater Blue Mountains national park is bigger than metropolitan Tokyo?) to Ku rin gai chase in the north, Royal National Park in the south and all in between, did I mention the rest of Australia? Why stop there lets explore somewhere closer to home New Zealand and venture accross the world!

Explorers from all walks of life are welcome to join, the only pre requisite is you bring a sense of adventure and humour along while exploring.

We will create activities that cater to all walks of life, not only bushwalking/hiking/tramping what ever you prefer to call it, we will have social activities which are fun and designed to get out there and celebrate, experience and enjoy all things & cultures together.

Please do not click I'm going unless 100% committed to attending a meetup, I'm going does not mean, I'm thinking about it, see how it goes, I might come! It means you are 100% committed in attending the meetup!

If you would like to organise the odd meetup from time to time let me know, it does not have to be bushwalking or to huge numbers of people, just something interesting!

Just a few house rules about Sydney Explorers:

One of the most important rules is if you choose to click I'm going, you must be 100% committed to attending, I'm going does not mean I'm thinking about it, maybe or will see how it goes, it means you are going!

I run this group mostly voluntarily and in good faith, please adhere to some basic rules below so we can all benefit.

Whilst bushwalking:

Do not leave anything behind, carry everything out, including fruit/vegetable waste which I realise some will say is bio degradable but if its not growing there you cannot leave it there! Leave only footprints, take only photos and always carry at least 2l of water, sunscreen, hat, jacket in case of a change in weather and lunch/snacks wear appropriate clothing and sturdy walking shoes, if taking medicine please advise the leader on the day.

No personal comments or ads to be posted on this web page, which is reserved for activity related comments only. Please do not message other group members unless its about specific activity related issues...
Please change your RSVP if you are unable to attend an event to allow others to come and also to make life easier for the organiser, but remember you must be 100% committed to attending when clicking I'm going
Failure to follow basic rules above and general etiquette will result in expulsion from the group, any decision is final!

Those that voluntarily participate in the activity referred to on this web page may be exposed to risk that could lead to injury, illness or death or to loss of or damage to personal property. Those risks may include but are not limited to slippery and/or uneven surfaces, rocks being dislodged, falling at edges of cliffs or drops or elsewhere, risks associated with crossing creeks, wind gusts across cliffs, hypothermia and heat exhaustion, snake and spider bites, and other venomous species. While the leader of the event will endeavour to minimize risks and exposure it is up to each participant to: Attend the activity if he/she feels it is within their capabilities and are carrying food, water and equipment and wearing clothing and footwear appropriate for this activity; Those taking medication or have any physical or other limitation that might affect their participation in the activity MUST advise the leader of these issues; The participant MUST also ensure that the medication being taken or limitations will not prevent the participant from successfully completing this activity; The participant must remain with the rest of the party during the activity and accept the instructions of the leader of the activity. By choosing to attend this activity the participant acknowledges that they have read or heard and understood these requirements. The participant has considered the risks before choosing to attend this activity and still wishes to join, the leaders accept no responsibility for loss of property, injury or any other adverse outcome.
