SLUG August meeting — What's new in RHEL 7

  • Aug 29, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • Cylon Conference Room @ Google Australia Level 2 Fairfax Media Building

Note change of location! Due to construction, we'll be in the next building over this month.

Our main talk is What's new in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 by Sergey Guzenkov.

As usual, there will also be lightning talks on the night; if you have something you want to share, something you found or used or wrote for Linux, please do put your name up on the board toward the beginning of the meeting.

Transit and parking info: The Google office is the big black building marked "Accenture" opposite Star City Casino on Pirrama Road.

If using the trains, you can go either get off (a) at Town Hall station, head towards Darling Harbour, walk across the Pyrmont footbridge and then follow Pirrama Road towards Star city; or (b) at Central station, then take the light rail to Star City.

If using the light rail, get off at Star City station and walk across the street.

If using the buses, the route 443 stops right out front of the building.

If you drive, then you can look for parking on the suburban streets around the office (or pay for parking at the Casino), and then walk from there.

Doesn't the building has stricter security than the regular place? Every time I've been to Google @Fairfax it was sign-in and get name badge to get into the building. Does everyone need to register? ie no +1's

It is unlikely there will be video streaming or recording of this months SLUG due to the construction work.

If you are interested in seeing this talk, please do attend!

I could deliver a talk on what's new in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.
It's based on Fedora19 and upstream kernel 3.10.
