Festivus: The festival for the rest of us

Festivus was invented in 1966 by Reader's Digest writer Dan O'Keefe, but was popularised in the 1990s by the TV show Seinfeld.

The Sydney 2013 Festivus celebration will include all the grand Festivus traditions including the Aluminium Festivus Pole, the Airing of Grievances, and Feats of Strength. Plus general feasting and frolicking in the park.

Please BYO food & drinks, and maybe some extra to share. It's also a good idea to bring along tables, chairs, blankets and shades if you're likely to want any of those things.

NOTE: Council stipulates no glass containers and no naked flames in the park.

Transport: Bus or tram are recommended!

The 431 bus from the city terminates at the northern end of the Park. Walk along the path down the centre of the park and cross the canal using the wooden bridge. The Pavilion is straight ahead, adjacent to the arches and playground.

The 433 bus from the city will stop at the southern end of the park, you must press the button just after Harold Park for the Nelson St stop. Cross the road and walk north along Chapman road past Webbers Carpet and stay on the left side of the canal. Once through the arches the pavilion can be seen on the left.

Tram from Central / Chinatown - Alight Jubilee Park, cross to the other platform then walk downhill around the left side of the oval. At the far side of the oval, behind trees is a wooden bridge on the left. Cross the canal via the bridge and the Pavilion is straight ahead.
