Information on the next Socrates Cafe Newtown
session is now up on the site. The topic will be: on randomness.
What is randomness? Can there be any uncaused events? Would such a truly random event challenge our conception of an ordered universe? Or is randomness just an illusion?
The talk will be given by Tibor Molnar, who studies philosophy of science, quantum mechanics and cognitive neuroscience, and teaches at the University of Sydney - Tibor's also a Socrates Cafe regular.
It will be held next Wednesday, 16 June, from 6.30pm at Berkelouw Books in Newtown.
Note: this Socrates Cafe will have a $5 door charge, which includes a tea or coffee from the cafe.
Hope to see you there!
