Tomorrow's Meetup: Discussion Topic to start the day

Hi All,

Kim Chaterjee, one of our regular attendees has had a great idea for tomorrow's meetup. I'll be joining in by bringing something to the discussion. Have a read of her idea below and see what you come up with too.

I think it's a great topic and an inspiring start to the day.

From Kim:

Hi all,

Our numbers are growing which is fantastic! So I have a request. (My New Year's resolution is to be proactive, so here goes)

We know that inclusive design can be rather overwhelming to dive into. With the range of experience we have in this group - and with you guys it is VAST - I propose we help make the introduction less scary for new people. We can start simple and bring our top 5 accessibility references to help the learning process.

If we pool together what we know and help remind each other of the awesome tools, references and resources that we learn from and use, we can help each other leap that initial wall, tackle that glazed look, map out the lay of the land... I'm running out of metaphors...

For our next meetup, I'd like to invite each of us to bring our top 5 favourite accessibility references with us. Could be a list, a poster, a checklist we saw, a great blog or site we refer to every now and then. Minimal to no prep, just off the top of your head if you like. Might be oldies and goodies you've found over the years... Let's meet and just list it out and make it available to everyone. There may be gems we have missed, or tools we haven't heard of - how awesome would that be? The more everyone knows about what resources are available, the better.

I'll come with my list, hope you guys do too! Look forward to seeing you all next meetup.
