Sawaki Kodo Roshi ~ In a word, Buddhism is non-self. Non-self means that "I" am not a separate subject. When "I" am not a separate subject, then I fill the entire universe". How can it be said better than this?
I have been studying Zen here for the past three years. What is unique about the zen centre is the number of teachers -there are five teachers (3 roshis and two apprentice Diamond Sangha teachers) all the teachers are wonderfully generous and passionate about the transmission of Dharma. There is opportunity throughout the year to sit in intensive 7 day silent meditation retreats in a beautiful wilderness temple (Kodoji). I have found the practice to be transformative and to be itself an affirmation of life and good living.
