  • MongoDB Australia
  • Assemble from 6pm
  • Talks from 6.30pm:
    • The business and sales considerations of MongoDB solutions (Rob Morris, CEO @Prismatik)
    • MongoDB Schema Design (Mark Puddick, Solutions Architect @MongoDB)
    • Q & A / Ask the Experts

We'll be providing food & drink based on RVSPs, so please let us know if you plan to attend (or if your plans change).

  • The business and sales considerations of MongoDB solutions (Rob Morris, CEO @Prismatik)

From a technical perspective, MongoDB is a great platform with many strengths, but like any tool there are good uses, and there are bad uses. Before the technical exploration comes the decision-making process to use the tool. This talk is an exploration of some of the ins and outs of selling and implementing MongoDB-based solutions from a business perspective, including benefits, challenges and common misconceptions.

  • MongoDB Schema Design (Mark Puddick, Solutions Architect @MongoDB)

The talk will cover the core concepts of schema design with some recommendations around modelling different relationships

Very informative session and I got to ask my burning MongoDB questions. Though I could've done without the joke that referred to SQL as a "she" who consequently "got drunk and dropped her glass". (Well we did get warned that it would be a bad joke.)

Hi Pauline, many apologies for any offence; I didn't intend to imply anything by the gender selections, other than to express my belief that the technical community should have at least as many women as men in it - hence why I made both SQL and the boss female. Women make great technologists, and I love working with them! Next time I tell the joke I'll be sure to make sure MongoDB is a she, and SQL is a he, to be fair. :-)
