Sydney MongoDB Meetup - 29 January, 2013

For a fresh start to the New Year we'd like *you* to share your experiences with MongoDB with the group.  Slides & preparation are completely optional .. you can talk about (or show us) something cool you have have learned or created with MongoDB.

Generally we're expecting each lightning talk to run 3-5 minutes, but if a few folks want to do longer talks (lightning & thunder?) we can allow for those as well.

You are welcome to do something impromptu on the night, but if you do want to book a slot in advance please contact me with your talk name & expected length or comment on the meetup event page.

  • assemble from 6.30pm
  • lightning talks from 7pm
  • grog 'n pizza!

Does any one have the presentation slides? I missed the meetup but am really interested.

Most of my slides probably aren't that appealing without the accompanying explanation and Dave's talks were actually live demos .. but will post what makes sense. If you do come along to a future meetup (or anyone would like a repeat of talks at some point) we can fill in the details as well. Talks were roughly "How to succeed in Failure", "Data dashboards with R+MongoDB at Imagebrief", "MongoDB Sekrit Commands", and "Data migration" (aka "Migrating from MongoDB to MongoDB").

Very interesting, I learned a lot about MongoDB, R, good practices and tips when you're using Mongo. Good presentations!

I'm not sure I have much to share, although I might be able to come up with something. Is it ok if I just listen?

Indeed, listening is fine too :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
