Symfony Hackathon

The last time we had a beer meeting at McKibbins, a lot of people said they would be interested in a Symfony hackathon in Montreal.

EDIT: Thanks a lot to WeMakeCustom for sponsoring the Hackathon!  They are providing an office space for 24 hours!  The hackathon will take place at their office.  You can find their office address on their contact page - its on "Le Plateau".

The hackathon begins on September 28th at 13:00 and ends on September 29th, at 12:59!

I am also asking, on /r/php, which part of Symfony the community would like us to work on.  If you are interested in joining the conversation, please do here.

Beer and Pizza will be provided free of charge, in exchange of commits on open source Symfony2 projects of your choice.

Can't wait to see you guys there!

EDIT AGAIN: I just created a facebook page for Symfony Montreal.   I believe it will be easier to create polls with it in the future.  Like it for more recent updates!

EDIT AGAIN... AGAIN!: We plan to give giveaways during the saturday's hackathon.  What kind of prizes would you like us to give?  You can share your thoughts on our facebook page.

Hi guys I finished moving the bed wow that was a lot of work!

I'm still planning to come back. I was thinking I would bring a case of beer but just thought I'd check if there happened to be way more beer than we need. So in short if you absolutely don't need another case of beer let me know otherwise I'll pick something on the way. Also if you need anything else please let me know.

    Best,

    J

Hello everyone, host here, this is to remember you of the Hackathon starting this saturday at 1PM. Please update your RSVP if you changed your mind so we have a good idea of the number of people to wait for.

Let the commits and the beer flow !

P.s.: We have a FoodFactoryService just next door implementing GoodPastaInterface and PizzaProviderInterface.

I might be an hour late, I have an EDA meeting in the morning. Also, Sid Lee Technologies is interested in hosting the next hackaton.

It would be wonderful if this kind of event could be hosted at different places each time so we get to discover different workplaces.

I'm probably going to work on extra date validators... Notably DateRange to complement Range.

    Hi!

I would be interested in coming along if you set a date and closer to inner city.

There are meeting rooms at the RPM center where I have an office that I would enquire about using.

We had a talk via emails about creating some sort of Hackathon. I understand we did not come back with an answer, but we asked several question to Symfony’s team and they seem quite overloaded.

Anyway, we are willing to offer our offices freely for this Hackathon if you are interested. After 17h30 during the weekly or the whole day during the weekend.

We are located at 305 rue de Bellechasse near metro Beaubien.

I had the idea of working of the ACL component:

I just sent you an email for the office proposition. I also like your project idea :)

This is a long ways out of the city for those of us with no car. I just checked it's an hours transit on bus out of the city.

What about at Notman house? I haven't been there yet but I hear it's good for these kinds of things.

I just sent an email to the Notman house this morning. Waiting for an email back. Sebastien seems to have an office he could supply as well. I didn't check how far it was, we definitely can't have the hackathon there. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
