Drupal is a popular Content Management System (CMS) used to create and maintain websites. It has modular themes and functionality, and for those who cannot find what they are looking for, or are just hell-bent on recreating the wheel, it can be customized extensively via PHP programming.
Out of the box, Drupal is great for setting up and maintaining one web site. If, however, you need to manage multiple Drupal sites, you should learn about DRUSH.
Drush stands for "drupal shell", and it is a command-line interface that allows you to do just about anything you might want to with Drupal, but from a command line.
Drush is extremely powerful.
At this event, we will quickly review the topics covered in the first presentation which included:
- Getting drush installed
- Update drush via drush
- Use drush to install Drupal
- Download some Themes and Modules via drush
- Enable Themes and Modules via drush
- Update modules via drush
- Update drupal via drush
- Backup a drupal site (files and database) via drush
In short, the basics of using drush to install and maintain a drupal website
Then we will go farther down the rabit hole ...
We will look at integration between drush and the Omega theme, and we will explore why the Omega theme is cool.
As always, we will be putting this presentation on for free; but, we request donations from those who can donate. We suggest between $2 and $20. Thank you for helping support the space.
