Wanted to let you know about the Syracuse University App competition.
SU App Challenge is a campus-wide public event where SU student teams show-off their software and/or hardware applications. This year, 24 teams will compete for prizes in three categories: Web Applications, Mobile Applications (e.g. iPhone, Android), and Hardware Applications (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi). The event will be trade-show style -- come and meet the students in person, learn about their newest innovations! This will be a great opportunity for entrepreneurs, business owners, and developers to connect with SU student developers!
When: Dec. 5, 5pm-7:30pm
Why: Meet the SU student developers and learn about their recent innovations
Where: ICE Box, Hinds Hall
Contact: Keisuke Inoue ([address removed])
Web Site: http://appchallenge.syr.edu
Also wanted to remind you about the Polaris library app competition.
The Polaris App Challenge is an “idea-based” contest, where participants submit an idea for an app that libraries would love to have! The app can be for web, desktop or a mobile device and should be library-oriented in its concept – either a fun app patrons would like or an app that could make a librarian’s job easier, in any department! Just submit screen mock-ups of what the app would look like, and a written explanation about the features and benefits! Prizes are: $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 for the top three ideas. Participate individually or as a team; just be sure to have at least one NY resident to qualify! For more details, visit http://www.polarislibrary.com/contests/
