Call out for Syracuse software developers:
Per Mike Vormwald, Sofware Developer with 3 Pound Health: "Next week, I'd like to kick off a new meetup for developers: OpenHack Syracuse - an initiative started by the Western NY Ruby Users Group to create a regular-meeting, globally branded hacking event. The exact structure of OpenHack varies across the nearly 100 cities that hold meetups, but the basic purpose is coding together.
OpenHack Syracuse will be a monthly meetup of software developers of any programming language and all skill levels. The first meeting will be held
Next Tuesday, April 8th
The Tech Garden
(235 Harrison Street, Syracuse, NY 13202)
Attendees will bring a laptop and a project to hack on. Each meeting will begin with a quick round of introductions where attendees say who they are, what they are working on, and if they would like any help with their project. Then everyone gets to work.
I believe building a community of local developers is our best bet to retain talent needed for Syracuse to thrive. These meetups are a step forward in building this community.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to email me, [address removed]. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP on NextPlex, so we know how much food to order.
