Due to many people's interest in learning more about TEE from Darren's presentation last meeting we are happy to present Mohamed Kerroumi, Field Application Engineer at Trustonic.

Mohamed, along with Adrian Buzescu from T-Mobile will be providing information and presentations on the following topics:

An Introduction to ARM’s Trustzone - High-level overview of what TrustZone, security architecture and how it is used by Trustonic’s <t-base TEE

The Trusted Execution Environment TEE Ecosystem -  An introduction to the concepts of a Trusted Execution Environment, a hardware separated operating system used for security-critical functionality

Typical Use Cases for TEE - What can a TEE be used for? This section highlights some of the use cases Trustonic are seeing the market demand.

Trustonic Products, Services, and Roadmap - A deep-dive into Trustonic’s products including <t-base, <t-sdk, <t-ddk, <t-kph, and <t-sek. Trustonic’s future plans for new features, enhancements

The Trustonic TEE Architecture - A presentation on the design of Trustonic’s TEE including the major constituent components and the roles they play

<t-base OTA Administration Principles - Trusted Applications execute in a privileged area of the device and as such must be deployed in a very secure manner. This section looks at the foundation of Trusted Application development and the chain of trust that needs to be built to enable OTA deployment of Trusted Applications

Hands-on demonstration and Q/A -  Demonstration on how to develop Trusted Applications and run into device.

I am also reaching out to our partners to see if all the attendees can be provided an evaluation SDK so that you can get your hands dirty with your own applications.

Please indicate your interest soon so that we have accurate counts for refreshments.

Thanks for organizing the very interesting presentation yesterday. Would you be posting the deck somewhere ? ( In the files listing perhaps :-) )

Hi Ashok, due to the sensitive nature of the technology involved I'm not sure if our presenter will be able to do that, but I will certainly request that they make it available. Thanks for attending!

Hello Aaron, For a history of the TEE and all the use cases and implementations, as well as Trustonic's complex business use case, I sent over some information in my power point, I think your audience would be interested to know the TEE has been in use for Netflix, Google Play, Amazon streaming video services (to protect the DRM scheme) for at least 2-3 years, a successful implemenation, but the more complex implementation is with mobile payment pin codes on Smartphones and mobile financial services protection, which is still a battle because of lack of EMV migration and lack of strong Smart Card adoption (for Near Field Communications applications) on Smartphones and Credit Cards in the USA. I can address NFC-Payments-and TEE together in one presentation, and will be moderating a panel on this topic during the evening of June 25th in Seattle @ WeWorks titled Mobile NFC Payments & Security "Show Me the Money!

Thanks! I am looking to our TEE team to see if we can get a hand's demo of Trustonic's technology. Perhaps we can all learn about how to implement trustlets. Stay tuned!
