The Big Haynes wetlands serves as an intake for Rockdale’s water supply. The area's management falls under the Horse Park and city of Conyers.  They maintain it as a wetland/wildlife site.  There are more miles of trails than we have time to walk on one day.  Roughly a mile of trail near the water has educational signs which are fun for young and young at heart.  In addition to this nature trail we will be walking on trails that were used by horses during the Olympic Equestrian events (may see a horse but generally we don't). Expect three to four miles at a moderate rate.

Remember to bring water and wear sturdy walking shoes.

Directions:

From I-20 exit #82 head north on Hwy 138 East for 3.7 miles. Turn right on Centennial Olympic Parkway. Stay on this for about 2.5 miles.  The parking area is the last left before the bridge; opposite gate "D" for the horse park.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
