Rappelling at Papago

Required gear: Helmet harness belay device and gloves. These can be rented at your local rock gym or The Hiking shack for $15 located at 32nd st and Thomas Ish. Im doing this event with my canyoneering group and left 4 spots for TAO for a total of 12. This is the real deal. We will be rappelling down a 110' face. It has an easy start for the first 70' then a vertical 40' finish.  We will hike over a mile through the desert up lose sand and some easy rock climbing to reach the top.

If this event is full please sign up for the waiting list so I can see how many are interested in a future event

Thanks for organizing this Mike. I had a blast and a shout out to all the others who shared experiences and helped out.

Hey Michael. I wrote an email regarding my plus-one and didn't hear back. I'm going to go ahead and change my RSVP to no. Hope someone on the wait list is able to use my spot. Have a great time.

I have 2 questions: 1. Looking at The Hiking Shack website, I don't see belay devices for rent. Is this something each person needs to have? I do see the helmets and harnesses for rent. 2. Are we ok with hiking boots for this type of rappelling?
