Closing Night & Party of Annual NOIR FILM FEST w/ 1948 ROAD HOUSE 35mm archival

This will be a very special "Femme Fatale" themed closing night event including free post-screening martinis, gambling and a live swing orchestra in the Egyptian Theatre's spacious forecourt, so the ADVANCE ticket price prior to April 4 is $20 for drinks & 35mm archival screening OR if you are a Cinematheque member then tickets are only $30 for drinks, dinner AND screening. After April 4 the basic drinks & screening tix jump to $25.

ROAD HOUSE features a star-powered faceoff between two film noir legends! Sparks fly when sassy Ida Lupino takes a job crooning in psychotic Richard Widmark's rural roadhouse. When she throws him over for his boyhood chum (Cornel Wilde), things really heat up. Ida sings the classics "One for My Baby" and "Again."

More ROAD HOUSE film details at BOOZE MOVIES: The 100 Percent Film Guide weblink below:

Guests are requested to get into the Noir mood by dressing as a gangster, gumshoe or their favorite femme fatale.

Tickets are available ONLINE at:

Actress Ida Lupino went on to become one of the very first and most successful female film directors in Hollywood history. Read more fascinating details about her on TCM's website at:|0/Ida-Lupino-Star-of-the-Month.html

Great evening! So many wonderful period looks I was getting whiplash! The courtyard of the Egyptian was a great location for the party and added so much to the feeling of the evening. The band was swingin', the burlesque dancers stripping, the poker players winning, and the lindy hoppers hopping while I suffered through yet another pair of challenging high heels! The pomegranate martini did help to ease the pain. Again greatest group of meetup attendees and the always welcoming and engaging Juno!

Sorry - but I've just got too much going on right now, and especially this weekend, to make this event.
