Hey Members of Twin Cities North East Social Singles,

I was thinking of going to Rivers Edge Music Festival Saturday June 23rd.  But I'm not going by myself.  So, I'm on the fence about it.  If anyone wants to go to the event and meet me there, let me know in a reply to this message and I'll post it on the calendar for the group.  Maybe we can get a bunch of us going.

All of the information is right here.  (Click HERE)

So, let me know if you want to go by Thursday Night by just replying to this E-mail.  Hope I get a lot of responses.  It looks really cool!!

Here is what the event is about:

Live Nation Entertainment and the City of Saint Paul announce the debut of River’s Edge Music Festival, a two-day event showcasing more than 30 artists on June 23 and 24 on historic Harriet Island. This inaugural event is the first of a five-year agreement between Saint Paul and Live Nation designed to establish a world-class destination festival in the Twin Cities. Tickets for River’s Edge Music Festival went on sale Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. via, and Two-day tickets are offered at a very special price of $99 plus applicable service fees for a limited time ending Friday, April 20. During this same week only, tickets can also be purchased with no service fees at the Xcel Energy Center box office.

This feast of sights and sounds will feature a broad range of musical talent on four stages. Headliners TOOL, in their only US date of the year, and DAVE MATTHEWS BAND anchor an eclectic bill ranging from psychedelic vanguards THE FLAMING LIPS and post-punks BRAND NEW to the big beats of KINKY, MEXICAN INSTITUTE OF SOUND and influential DJ/producer DIPLO, as well as a rich variety of electronic, independent, progressive, cutting-edge and local artists.

“I’m excited to see the expansion of Live Nation in Saint Paul, bringing millions of dollars in economic vitality to the city and building Saint Paul’s reputation as a top spot for live music,” Mayor Chris Coleman said. “This new series builds on our years of success with Live Nation. I look forward to several years hosting this great music event at Harriet Island.”

Presenter Live Nation Entertainment is applying its global network and exhaustive experience in festival development, production and promotion in order to create a seamless experience for fans and artists alike. River’s Edge Music Festival will offer the leading edge in live entertainment at every level, from high-security admission wristbands to top of the line stage production to an innovative Silent DJ Stage, a European creation which will use wireless technology to create a non-stop party audible only to its participants.

Local artists POLICA, MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, QUIETDRIVE and THE ROPE will add a little “Minnesota Nice” to the international lineup. A local flavor will also be evident, as some of Saint Paul’s famous eateries, food trucks and artisans will be showcasing their wares.

“We are thrilled to bring the Twin Cities the festival it has long deserved, a reflection of the discriminating tastes of its music fans as well as the area’s reputation as a cultural leader,” said Mark Campana, Co-President, Live Nation. “We will be making the most of this beautiful site and its natural advantages to create an experience that truly reflects the community, creativity, and culture of the area. River’s Edge Music Festival will enrich Saint Paul’s already vibrant musical landscape and provide a new touring destination for artists for years to come.”

River’s Edge Music Festival will strive to ensure the incredible musical experience is only enhanced by its sustainability efforts before, during, and after the show. To do its part, the festival will offer comprehensive recycling efforts, food composting, water hydration stations, ride share to support carpooling, bicycle valet stations, shuttles to the island, and an area designed solely to engage music fans in diverse environmental and communal not-for-profit organizations. River’s Edge Music Festival will also partner with Children’s Cancer Research Fund, which invests in lifesaving research in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of childhood cancers and blood-related disorders, to raise both awareness and funds in conjunction with the festival.
