TEAMJAB FITNESS BOOT CAMP
My name is Jenifer Alcorn. I am a Retired, Undefeated, 3x World Champion Boxer. I have been running TEAMJAB FITNESS BOOT CAMP since 2003. Not only have I been an athlete all my life, I am a certified NASM trainer.
The concept is really quite simple. My boot camp is designed to develop functional strength, endurance and mental toughness. With proper nutritional adherence weight loss is definitely attainable.
Starting a program is the HARDEST part. Everyone starts out either a little nervous, a little scared, or a little out of shape….or a little of all of the above.
Once you become acclimated to getting up at 5:00am or coming to a 6:30 pm after work- everything you do will become easier. Your energy levels will increase, difficult task that typically cause you stress will seem easier, and your body will start to change.
I pride myself on getting to know how to motivate each person that attends my boot camp. Not everyone responds the same, so if you hear my yelling at someone-it’s because they need it…. You may need something else. My email is ALWAYS open if you need to contact me to discuss how I can improve and be a better leader; firstname.lastname@example.org.
DON’T QUIT- I will call you out for no showing- that’s because we all need to be accountable. Don’t be embarrassed, take your licks and get back in the game!
I AM NOT A SUPPLEMENT SELLER. I DO NOT PROMOTE weight loss supplements and/or other products. I sell FITNESS and MOTIVATION and proven NUTRITION ADVICE. If you have joined my boot camp to promote SUPPLEMENTS/OTHER PRODUCTS associated with WEIGHT LOSS- you will promptly removed from TEAMJAB MEETUP. You get success from hard work-
As in REAL boot camp….there is grunting, groaning, sweating, and profanity….sometimes from boot campers, sometimes from me, and more than likely from you in the near future.
TEAMJAB promotes community- I am a HUGE supporter of MANY causes in our community. TOGETHER we make a huge impact, whereas alone….we may not. The MIND BODY SPIRIT TRIFECTA is important….leave any one component out and your mojo will be lopsided.
BOOT CAMP ATTIRE runs the gamut. Most people in town think I am absolutely nuts because I wear BDU’s and Boots everywhere. I am OK with that. Most boot campers wear sweats or protective pants in the winter and running shoes, with layers on the top to peel off as they get warmed up. A great investment is a good PAIR OF GLOVES and a GATOR (neck warmer). Summer permits us to wear shorts and tank tops. PLEASE NO SPANX.
STARTING JANUARY 2017- ALL BOOT CAMPERS are required to bring their own set of dumbbells and Kettle bell to boot camp! The sizes range from #10, #15, #20. FIRST TIMERS can borrow Kettle bells.
ALL FIRST TIMERS must have a MEETUP ACCOUNT- that is where they agree to my waiver!
FEES: Due by the 1st of the month
PAYABLE by: Venmo, Square Cash, Envelope w/name and cash
$40 for UNLIMITED boot camps mwf 5am/mwth 630pm
FIRST TIMERS: $10 can be applied to MONTHLY RATE.
DROP INS: $15.00
(for current members that wish to drop in every once in a while)
CANCER SURVIVORS: FREE (not some basal skin cancer either, I’m talking about the scary stuff)
NOTE: I go to Oregon every few months. There will be workouts posted that you can perform to stay in shape in my SHORT absence. Most boot campers like to meet and work out together.
WORDS OF WISDOM FROM CURRENT CADETS:
Amazingly, Team JAB has touched all aspects of my life, and I’m much happier for it. From my perspective, Team JAB lives and reinforces the ideas of goodness, love, discipline, hard work, and giving to others less fortunate. I’ve actually gained the courage to make a long overdue career change, and my whole family is happier for it. Thanks Jenifer. You’re the best, and so damn impressive with your fortitude, kindness, and never ending quest for the highest standards from all your cadets.
When I started with Team JAB I weighed 198 pounds. Now I’m at a steady 172. My resting heart rate is at 57. And, the rosacea is completely gone. Sorry I have no photos of the weight loss or rosacea.
-The hardest part is just showing-up. Basically, Jen does the rest. You just have to follow her lead.
-At first, if you have to: take naps under your desk at lunch time. It will help your body heal.
-Drink lots of water and add a supplement like Propel or Gatorade.
-Cut back on all the salty foods and alcoholic beverages. Eat more salads and lean proteins.
-Stretch. Stretch a lot.
-Don’t give-up. It gets easier.
- If you have to show-up like a zombie at 5am then go ahead. You’ll feel great the rest of the day.
-Keep the socializing to a minimum. It takes away from the work-out and it pisses her off. Too much of it pisses me off also.
-Oh yeah: No whining about the wet grass, or any of that bs. Just suck it up and drive-on.
Sorry, I have no story to tell. Just that there are a lot of really good people at boot camp.
It is very much like the real thing. I went to basic training at Fort Jackson, SC in the summer of 1990 and I long for those days. Team JAB is an expert at replicating the real deal.
Team JAB has helped transform my life into one filled with confidence and friendship. After having two children I felt very isolated and fat, so I decided to take it upon myself make that leap of faith and go out to Team JAB. I began to gain confidence in my body with my new found strength and create new friendships with my fellow Team JAB addicts, I’ve also lost all my baby weight and I feel great. I’ve been attending for 4.5 years and I wouldn’t trade any of those torturous hours for anything. I would not be the person I am today without boot camp, taking that initiative to go was the best decision I had made for myself.
TIPS: Take it one day at time, and make small goals for yourself. Before you know it, you’re making new goals and you eventually become one of the front runners.
I signed up for a special Pismo Beach workout with Team JAB shortly after I started attending. I was nervous about going, unsure of whether or not I was going to be able to keep up, and that morning we all received an email from Jenifer talking about adversity. And after we showed up to our location, Brad Alcorn also shared with our group about facing adversity before we began, and those words have helped me face the things that are difficult to face even to this day. The things that were shared from both Jenifer and Brad on that day have encouraged me more than I have ever received before. You don’t just get a workout when you attend, you get personal growth as well. Teamjab is The best torture you’ll crave.
TEAMJAB is the absolute best deal in fitness anywhere around. For a fraction of the cost of other boot camps and organizations you get a motivated PERSONAL trainer who will not only push you farther than you thought you could go but will craft an experience that you will enjoy. No two workouts are ever the same and all exercises can be modified to accommodate one's own situation.
TEAMJAB is more than a fitness club, it is truly a community minded, welcoming family of wonderful, like-minded people who have put aside excuses and work together to become their best self. The workouts have increased my proficiency in my job, my attitude and overall outlook on life.
After a year in TEAMJAB I ran a mile in under 7 minutes, which I had not been able to accomplish before. I would recommend to anyone considering TEAMJAB to definitely try it.
Show up with a good attitude and be ready to work hard! If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. There are no easy boot camps, that is not why people choose TEAMJAB. Be ready to work as a team and as an individual.
My personal favorite part of TEAMJAB is the group workout atmosphere that is so welcoming. Everyone wants you to succeed, and as long as you have a positive attitude and good work ethic, Jen will get you there!
I have been regularly attending Team JAB for 1.5 years. Started in Jan 2015 but suffered a health set back and returned in July 2015. Fantastic workouts. I am most pleased and happy that each workout is dynamically different. I am never sure what to expect until the workout is done. Best part about Team JAB for me is that it is outdoors. I dislike indoor stuffy, stinky gyms. Love Team JAB.
Best part about Team JAB for my budget is that Team JAB is the most affordable workout group I have ever been apart of. At $35 in 2015 & 2016 to $40 for 2017, best bargain, best workouts, and best motivation. I could have never imagine that getting sore would be this much fun until I found Team JAB.
My testimony and picture: Back on July 2015 after suffering through my health setback and was given a clear from my doctor to proceed with my exercise, etc., I stepped on the weight scale at 198.5 lbs. Phew...that shocked me. No way, I was going to top 200. I got back on into Team JAB, slowly woggle (Walk and Jog) around my neighbhorhood. Severely out of breath each time and I couldn't even do 1 full sit up. I was in bad shape. By July 2016 (1 year later) I weighed in at 165 lbs (35 lbs less), could do several full sit ups, had already ran two 5K marathons and felt so much better. Best feeling of health in more than 10 years.
TIPS: Be shy, be scared, but don't stop. I knew no one and was shy (still am) but don't stop. Best thing is, I have learned more ways to use cuss words in a full sentence than ever before. Hahahaa! But I like it! It doesn't matter who finsihes first, my finish line is my finish line. I aim to finish. I'm slow but don't stop. - a story about a particular boot camp In February/March 2016 on a foggy morning. Fitness Commander Alcorn had us in lines running in Indian Run Formation. It was dark, there were so many people because everyone was returning from the holidays with far fetched new year's resolution goals. After 2 minutes, I was dying, gasping for air, going to give up. I can't recall a few members name who were in my line running with me but they kept telling me to keep going and talking me to finish. I kept going with their support. This is why I love Team JAB. The people are great. No matter how slow or how weak, we are all only as weak as our weakest link but we don't give up. And I didn't mind being the weakest link because my team did not give up on me. After this day, I knew I had found my fitness family.
Thank you Team JAB. How I describe TEAMJAB: Sleepy absurd healthy addictive workouts with crazies at 5 am. Slap myself stupid that I want to return at 6:30 pm and turning down social gatherings on Friday nights because I have boot camp on Saturday mornings. This is my Team JAB description. I like it!
