The quality and diversity of the talks.
Seth Godin on Tribes (I think this mentalitly is what it will take to save the world)
Im a self proclaimed Geek Of All Trades, Photographer, Adventurer, Inventor,. By day im a UNIX Admin, otherwise I help teach/learn/collaborate on projects electronic/mechanical/digital/art at Albuquerque's First Hacker/Maker workshop, Quelab,
I wish it all the best of luck, I don't think I'm going to have any time to volunteer, but I will be there to see the event go off and will be telling people, I know throwing such an event such as TEDx is expensive, but i do find the price a bit offputting, most of my friends wont attend because they cant afford something like that, Many other local events pull off shows with far lower ticket prices(IgniteNM even feeds the people and does it for free) , and i think the ideas are worth spreading to everyone not just those with large disposable incomes! I understand full TED events are ridiculously pricy and in comparison TEDxABQ is pretty cheap, but i still wonder if its not better to find more sponsors and do it cheaper and build up.
