Talk about this Meetup
TED Talks Oil is up and running on the flat screen. Ring the doorbell and Erin will let you in. Tell her you are here for TED talks and she'll show you to the conference room. Help yourself to the snacks. I'll be popping in and out all day. Leave a message here for me if you have any questions. Thanks!
Posted by Linda June 28, 2010 at 10:45 AMLinda: If I'm the only one who wants to come in early that seems unnecessary for you to make special arrangements. I'll arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 to watch the 2nd session. Thanks for all the coordination!
Posted by Leisa Fearing June 27, 2010 at 7:09 PMLeisa, I can try to get there for 8am but not sure the equipment will be up and running at that time as I made arrangements with someone to come in tomorrow to set it up for 9am. So far you are the only person who has confirmed an early AM attendance.
Posted by Linda June 27, 2010 at 2:41 PMGerard, I made other arrangements so I no longer need the projector. Thanks!
Posted by Linda June 27, 2010 at 2:36 PMJust checked the streaming schedule and it will begin at 9 am Eastern time. Would it be possible to get started at 7:45 here in New Orleans to be able to view the entire session?
Posted by Leisa Fearing June 27, 2010 at 1:42 PMHI- I would love to help- Will be there.
Posted by Susie Kim June 26, 2010 at 8:31 PMChad, anyone on this meetup is welcome to invite a couple of people during the day but since it's during business hours we don't want it advertised as 'open to the pubic'. Everyone is also welcome to post an announcement of the screening for public viewing I just ask that you specify the doors to the public open at 5pm.
Posted by Linda June 26, 2010 at 10:00 AMYes, but we're trying to limit the turnout to about 30 or so due to the fact that we're holding it in our conference room, not the main space, since it will be during business hours. An RSVP is appreciated.
Posted by Lauren Goldfinch June 26, 2010 at 8:27 AMIs this open to the public?
Posted by Chad Ross June 26, 2010 at 12:34 AMGerard, I'd like to arrange to have your projector picked up. Let me know what suits you best.
Posted by Linda June 25, 2010 at 2:24 PMLinda, I'll be there after 11, in and out (since I work there). Are other Icebergs in the loop on this?
Posted by eness_64 June 25, 2010 at 10:58 AMI'd like to take suggestions from the group on where they would like to meet for an after party. Pal's is three blocks from the Icehouse as are a few restaurants. Not sure where Capdaville is. What would everyone like to do?
Posted by Linda June 24, 2010 at 2:22 PMWhoops - Thanks The Building Block at the Icehouse :-)
Posted by Leisa Fearing June 24, 2010 at 2:08 PMI'll be attending at 9:00. I assumed that if you signed up at right that would confirm your reservation. If not, we should probably put something in the meeting description up front.
Hi Leisa, please let me know what time you expect to come by. Also please note the event is @The Building Block at the Icehouse not the IP building.
Posted by Linda June 24, 2010 at 1:38 PMThanks for hosting IP!!
Posted by Leisa Fearing June 24, 2010 at 1:23 PMI won't be able to make it to the meetup during work hours... But can be there by 5:30, if events are still going on. Thanks!
Posted by Courtney Sutherby June 24, 2010 at 12:19 PMOk, so I understand now that it is an all day event. Can I get an RSVP from everyone that will let me know what time each of you plan to arrive? Since it's during business hours we will screen in the conference room instead of on the main floor. We can accomodate up to 30 people.
Posted by Linda June 24, 2010 at 11:46 AMThanks!
Hello everyone, The Building Block at the Icehouse would be happy to host the live stream. I'm a bit confused about the time- Is it streaming at 9am as this site says? Gerard mentioned cocktails and that seems a bit early for me even by NOLA standards. ? Time is important because the number of people we can accomodate during business hours is less than afterhours. Please let me know.
Thanks! Looking forward to TED

Posted by Linda June 24, 2010 at 8:54 AMYes, the Icehouse is a huge space that would prove to be very adequate. For PechaKucha we had a turnout of about 500 and it was great. The Building Block manager, Linda, would be interested in hosting if you would like to contact her about it: [masked].
Posted by Lauren Goldfinch June 22, 2010 at 1:13 PMI work at the Icehouse and the manager is in today if you're still interested in the possibility. It's a great venue and worked well for PechaKucha Night presentations two weeks ago.
Posted by Lauren Goldfinch June 22, 2010 at 8:15 AMGerard, I'd be happy to coordinate the Capdeville portion. Have a good relationship with them.
Posted by sheri' mora June 22, 2010 at 8:09 AMIP? Internet protocol? A little help on this one folks...
Posted by Aaron Viles June 21, 2010 at 11:51 PMThe IP would work for me

Posted by mary rowe June 21, 2010 at 5:54 PMSocial Media Club is interested in having a Happy Hour for the closing remarks at 6pm, followed by some Q&A/ open discussion on how online tools are being used and can continue to be used to spread the word. Anyone got a place with a projector that would be interested?
Posted by Tiffany Starnes June 21, 2010 at 12:29 PMAny ideas on location or where we can meet to watch the streaming TEDxOilSpill?
