My name is Kristen and I am surprisingly new to Harry Potter. I started reading the book about a year and a half ago after many years of ridiculing my friends (I know, the blasphemy!) and now write my own fics and read the books to children!
I suppose I relate the most to Neville Longbottom, even though my favorite character is Draco.
I was bored and went to the library around the corner and decided that it was finally time to start reading HP. I read the first three books in a few weeks and then got bored in book 4 with all the Quidditch World Cup business. A friend of mine told me that I had to power through all of that because "sh** goes down" in the 4th book. A few months later I was in North Carolina at the beach with nothing to read. i decided I wanted to read the rest of HP RIGHT THEN. Unfortunately, I had no access to it and read one of my friends fanfics on my phone, instead. I was hooked. The minute I got back to NY, I ran to Barnes and Noble and bought GoF. In the next 3 1/2 weeks, I finished the series then began to read fanfics almost daily. Last October I started working on my own fic and rediscovered my love for writing.
My fav book is Half Blood Prince because it shows Draco's vulnerability and makes him a sympathetic and relatable character. I feel JKR didn't give Draco a fair chance in the end.
Draco Malfoy. I feel like he is just a hurt kid who is covering a wealth of feelings with a false bravado. He was totally a redeemable character and I hate that we never got to see all of that in DH (except at the end when he and Harry sort of nod at each other.)
Hufflepuff. I was too meek to argue with the Sorting Hat over that one.
