Aromatherapy is a non-invasive, non-toxic, and pleasurable way to enhance our lives. It utilizes essential oils, or the vital, alive part of a flower, plant, fruit, grass or tree that is distilled in order to remove the active, fragrant part of the oil from its other components. This concentrated essential oil has healing properties. Because of its concentration, it is important to understand how to use it properly. When used with understanding, aromatherapy is invaluable . Through the use of aromas from essential oils, certain responses can be elicited within the nervous system to assist with relaxing or energizing, helping one sleep or creating a certain mood. Aromatherapy has been practiced for over 5,000 years, and its modern day resurgence gives us more choices in healing our bodies, emotions, mind and spirit, naturally.
