Meet or talk with other people who are interested in helping their community utilize the Transition Town concept to effectively and positively address the issues of reduced energy, economic crisis and changing climate.

While this meetup will provide information on awareness raising and sanctioned training events happening in Maine, anyone from any community is welcome! The Transition Town concept is unusual in that it:

*  is based on permaculture principles

*  is bottom up and adaptive, rather than top down and prescriptive.

*  recognizes our need to envision a positive future.

* enables us to act on that vision by unleashing our collective genius.

There are now 134 official Transition Initiatives in the US and more than 400 globally
