Introduction to The Monroe Institute and HemiSync Meditation Session

This will be our kickoff meeting for the newly rebooted TMI Austin Local Chapter. This meeting is for newcomers and experienced TMI graduates alike. We'll be providing an overview of the Monroe Institute, information on it's history, audio programs, and residential training programs. We'll also get one or two guided audio meditation sessions in to get everyone some hands on experience with HemiSync and the TMI material.

Please bring a set of stereo headphones (closed ear preferable). Also bring a blanket and pillow if you prefer laying on the floor during the meditation sessions instead of sitting in a chair. There will be chairs, yoga mats, bolsters, and some blankets available at the yoga studio also. You may also want to bring something to take notes with.

The Yoga studio charges a small fee to rent their space so I have a suggested fee of $5.00 that can be paid when you arrive, but we'll see how much it will really be per person depending on how many people show up. I just need enough to cover the rental charge.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

I like this song and is appropriate for the spiritually minded. They are B Tribe and I invite you to listen their smooth sounds. This is not an advertisment:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfnJVamQ3WI

Ok folks, I've scheduled the next series of meetings... one North and one South. I do not have a location for the South meeting yet but will work on it this month. I have a few good leads now and will chase them down before the meeting. I promise it will be close to or in 78704. I'd encourage folks that will miss tomorrow's meeting to sign up quickly for the next one.

Good morning, and greetings to All. I am curious about any cancelations? I believe I am 7th on waiting list. I saw in the thread a possible south meet up. Has anything come of that idea?

I live in Lockhart, so I am also interested in meetings at a southerly Austin location or maybe in San Marcos. Are there any leaders who live in the San Marcos area?

Joey, thanks for joining. I'll be scheduling another meeting within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out.

My fault. I overbooked that evening and I am bringing some needed equipment to the other deal so I'll have to do this some other time.

I live in 78704, just South of the river. It would be great to have alternating meetings down here with the ones held up north, or as I affectionately refer to it, 'Eskimo-ville'. ;)

      Eskimo-ville... I love it!

Hi Beth, welcome to the group. You could start with Journeys Out of the Body, which was Monroe's first book. It's a bit dated now probably but still a classic. You could also try The Journey of Robert Monroe. Neither of these are really good how-to books though if that's what you're looking for.

    February 18, 2013

  • Beth

I live in the north part of Austin also. Can anyone recommend a Monroe book?

    February 17, 2013

  • Jay P.

I think having 2 meetings a month north/south is a great idea. If this group gets any larger it'll be more accommodating.

    February 16, 2013

  • Mike

I like Jay's suggestion too. I think rotating each month or maybe even having 2 meetings a month, one north and one south, may be an option. I just posted a poll so please vote for your choice and we can talk about the results during the first meeting. And thank you guys so much for the input So glad to see everyone engaged and as excited as I am about this.

    February 16, 2013

  • LOIS M.

    I live north also..

That sounds good to me too!

Some of us are up north. I like Jay's suggestion.

    February 16, 2013

  • Jay P.

Perhaps we could rotate or find something central? If all the meetings are on the south side on a Wed. night that will make it difficult.

    February 15, 2013

  • Don R.

    Yes, 78704 here also

    February 15, 2013

  • Pat

I'm not sure where everyone lives but would be great to get one in 78704 area -- i could probably help with that!

    1 · February 15, 2013

    • Mike

Ok, if you "southies" have a good meeting location to suggest, like a quiet yoga studio or someone's home, I'll seriously consider it. :-) Let's definitely talk at the first meeting next month and I'll take a poll to see where most of the regular attendees live. At the end of the day this group is for you guys so I will accommodate you all as best I can.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
