The Waterfront Jazz Festival is the kick-off weekend for the annual Beaches Jazz Festival
Located at the western edge of the Beach community, Woodbine Park is located at the corner of Northern Dancer Boulevard and Lake Shore Boulevard East (Northern Dancer is between Coxwell and Woodbine Avenues).
Admission is FREE to all! Not sure if this is wheelchair accessible - you will need to consult website to decide for yourself.
I'm suggesting that we meet for the Saturday afternoon & early evening shows
Musicians scheduled to perform:
4:00 PM Johannes Linstead - virtuoso in gypsy/latin guitar music http://www.johanneslinstead.com/main/
5:30 PM Carlos del Junco - plays the harmonica (blues harp) in his own amazing style http://www.carlosdeljunco.com/
7:00 PM Paul James - plays guitar and sings the blues http://www.pauljamesband.com/
and for the really adventurous
9:00 PM Bryan Lee & the Powder Blues Band - from New Orleans - http://www.braillebluesdaddy.com/
We can meet at the SOUTH EAST CORNER OF QUEEN & COXWEL at 3:00 pm - I will wait until 3:15 at the latest.
After that you're on your own to find us in the "beer garden". This is the fenced in section to the right side of the stage, we usually try to find tables close to the fence and at least 1/2 way to the stage.
There is food and beverage available for sale at this festival but feel free to bring some snacks.
Bring your sunscreen and an umbrella (just in case)!
Map with directions to park is available online at http://www.waterfrontblues.ca/map.php
The festival starts Friday night and goes all weekend long. Full details of the festival along with musician bios available http://www.beachesjazz.com/woodbine-park/
If you sign up, be sure to show up. Please DO NOT cancel your RSVP any later than Friday July 19 - so that we know if we should actually be waiting for you or not.
