Gregg Stafford @ Hugh's Room - SOLD OUT

Tonight we get a true taste of New Orleans Jazz courtesy of trumpeter and story teller, Gregg Stafford.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Gregg Stafford is widely considered to be one of the finest trumpet players today in the traditional New Orleans style of jazz. Mentored from a young age by the late, great Danny Barker, Gregg rose up through the ranks of New Orleans traditional brass bands to front his own band, the Jazz Hounds, and to become an annual favourite at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He has been a regular in the Preservation Hall house band, and continues to be featured at other New Orleans jazz landmarks. A grade-school school teacher by day, Gregg’s music is known to fans around the world.

Backing Gregg will be a stellar 6-piece band drawn from the best of local Toronto classic jazz bands.

We went last year for this event and had a great time!

The evening will be topped off with a Second Line parade in the best New Orleans style.

Our tables are for the 6:30 pm sitting for dinner - you can order appetizer, entree OR dessert plus drinks (of course)

Please indicate on your RSVP once you have ordered your tickets.

A special thanks to Mary Simpson, TML member and organizer of this event at Hugh's Room, for this generous offer.

Gregg Stafford always puts on a great show with fantastic back up from local bands who normally play at C'Est What and Grossmans. Kudoos to Mary for arranging this evening for all of us to enjoy.
