John Kameel Farah exemplifies a new paradigm for composers. His music is a mixture of multiple different genres and idioms coupled to the ingredients of an idiosyncratic compositional style. His work is infused with a sense of discovery and innovation as well as a level of homage to earlier practices and traditional styles of western and non-western classical traditions.
This Salon presents Farah in discussion and the world premiere of his new work for piano and electronics.

Unfortunately they no longer offer free food. The drinks are now sold by the restaurant, and we found the service to be very slow last time.
We will meet in the lobby of the Gardiner Museum - right at Museum subway, east side of University Ave just south of Bloor.
