Blues @ the El Mo

Raoul and The Big Time "Legends of The El Mocambo" w/ Danny Marks!

NOW Magazine Best Blues Artist and Maple Blues Award Winners Raoul and The Big Time are on a mission: Bring The Blues back to The El Mo.

In a series of shows Raoul and The Big Time will feature a guest who represents a voice from the golden era of The El Mo, Yorkville or Yonge Street scenes of the 60s,70s and 1980s. Along with the legendary session from Stevie Ray Vaughan at The El Mo, multiple blues masters graced the stage and many of Toronto's finest musicians were there as fans and players themselves.

Their first show features one of the cities most dynamic performers, singer, songwriter, masterful guitarist and radio personality with a long history in the Toronto music scene and many many miles logged on the El Mocambo stage DANNY MARKS.

Come out and enjoy Danny playing blues and building a bridge between the glorious past and the bright future of The El Mo!

Show starts at 9:30

I'll be waiting inside the door around 9 pm

It's been many years since I've had so much fun. Generally I don't enjoy dancing, but with this band I couldn't stay seated.

The first group was ok. When Danny came on, this is when I really enjoyed the blues. He has the voice for it.

fun night, great to see the sign restored to its old glory and the first floor has come a long way from our last visit a year or so ago. big plans are in place for upgrading/renewal of the El Mo. Hopefully they were impressed by the event and it will become a new regular on the local blues scence. Nice to meet so many new members and of course to see some of the regulars as well :)

It might be a good idea to get there a bit before 9pm to find a place to sit.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
