Core Monday Morning meet up: Tool Care with Connie Beck

This is your chance to learn how to make those tools last for a long time. Keep your clippers sharp, your wood handles smooth, your spades clean and sharp......

Bring some tools to work on in class and sharpening tools you use if you have any. Taking care of tools can safe a lot of money in the long run....

Meet your instructor, Connie Beck:

I've been an organic gardening instructor and
landscape designer for the past 22 years,
including 10 years teaching vocational horticulture
at the San Diego County women's jail. In the past I
have also enjoyed being a docent and nature interpreter
(Canyoneer) for the Audubon Society and Natural
History Museum
. I volunteered for 8 years for National Wildlife Federation
to help people create habitats in schools, churches,
businesses, and backyards.  I also volunteer with California
Native Plant Society to promote the use of our own beautiful
plants which are so well-adapted for this area, and I head up
their propagation program.

My belief is that one person at a time can make a
by giving up toxic chemicals and
providing the basic necessities for wildlife: food,
water, cover and a place to raise their young.
