Galveston Featherfest: April 11-14 (UNHOSTED)

**UPDATE: Nobody responded to any of my (Amanda's) messages about attending one of the Sunday events. Therefore I am not going to host or attend. I've changed this back to an "unhosted" event and am leaving it on the calendar for informational purposes only.

Here is more info on the weekend of events:

The Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council is excited to announce that FeatherFest 2013 will be held on the campus of UTMB’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) in the Island Community Center at 4700 Broadway. This new venue provides classrooms for all of our birding and photography workshops, plenty of free parking, and space for our expanded 2013 Birders’ Bazaar! Our new FeatherFest Headquarters, located on one of Galveston’s major thoroughfares, is easy to find at Broadway and 47th Street, and we are looking forward to seeing you there April 11-14!

With more than 100 field trips, workshops and social events, you will have plenty to choose from at FeatherFest 2013! Don’t miss one of the largest birding festivals in Texas, and the only one with a dedicated nature photography track!

    Sophie, having been a goup leader int he past, I totally understand. I will follow the program I was just wondering if there will be a group campsite at Galveston State Park like we have done in the past/ However, after hiking the Appalation Trails solo, I will just get my own sie. But I totally uderstand what you are saying. I am familiar with the program and it would be dificult for one person to pay unless we were all interested in the same thing and that would make it a bit boring. Hopefully, I will see you there.

    I've tried doing this as a group thing in the past and it just didn't work out. Everyone wanted to do different things and they had to be paid up front (which everyone had to take care of themselves) and the tours/workshops met at different times so it was hard to hook back up... So, now I just post it for info to let y'all know when it 's going on... In case anyone is interested. But, Amanda did post the desire to lead some event as a group... Not sure if she got any responses... You might check with her.
