Free Tai Chi Class and Tea in the Park (West Houston)

Join Amanda, Blue and Anna for some easy and healthy exercise: a Qi Gong / Tai Chi class, followed by tea! Class is rain or shine! We'll be outdoors, but under a gazebo with a roof.

Price: FREE

HOW TO FIND US:
As soon as you pull into the park there is a parking lot and a gazebo. We will be in the gazebo. Call/text Amanda at[masked] or call/text Blue at[masked]-8984.

About the class:
This is an easy, introductory Chen-style tai chi and chi gong class suitable for all experience levels and fitness levels. Tai chi is a series of exercises, breathing and movements that help the energy (chi) flow throughout your body. It's great for the muscles and circulation and you will feel great afterwards!

Tea after the class:
Anna and Amanda (Tea Masters in training) will bring 3-4 Chinese teas for us to drink after the class. Bring your own tea cup or glass! Anna is going to bring an oolong and a puerh, maybe a green tea. Amanda will bring an iced lemon-vanilla puerh.

What to wear:
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting exercise clothing that you can move in. Athletic shoes are good, but should not have a high heel or too much padding.

WHAT TO BRING:
Drinking water
Towel
Cup or glass for your tea
Your favorite sweetener if needed

About the instructor:
Blue Siytangco teaches Chen-style qi gong and tai chi. For more info: www.bluesiytangco.com or[masked] or [masked]

Great class! Wish it wasn't so hot. The instructor was good about breaking down the moves and did some martial arts demos for us. After the class, we enjoyed 4 types of tea and some desserts.

For those who have been asking if you can come "next time", there probably will not be another one of these. Although the tai chi class takes place here every friday, Anna and I are pnly bringing tea for tonight. This location is 50 miles from my home and I don't plan on ever driving here again at rush hour.

Understand the part about long drive. Most TOWN activities are far for me too. Thanks for putting this together Amanda. Sorry I missed it.

An accurate headcount is needed so that we can ensure enough tea for everyone. If your plans change and you can't go, please change your RSVP to "no" or call/text me at[masked]-9160. Ditto if you decide to bring a guest.
