I love the outdoors and am the Coordinator for TOWN Bastrop and would love to do some joint outings with you gals.

What type of outdoor activities are you interested in?

Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Horseback Riding, Camping and Hiking.

Is there an activity that you would consider yourself very proficient in?

I am a Certified Angler Education Instructor though TPWD.

Would you be willing to share your expertise with others?

Yes I would.

Would you be available for weekend outings?

Yes I am.

How far would you be willing to travel for a weekend outing?

Paulette, I have great news about Caddo Lake. They are adding new kayak trails there. Texas Kayak Trails is the best place to go. I spoke with Aaron Applebaum last week. He has a pontoon boat and says he can get into small areas and he gives a guided tour of the lake. He says the best place to launch and kayak is Shady Glade Marina. He does not recommend kayaking from the state park. Which weekend in October is best for the club? I can get RV sites very close to the screened in open shelters.

Paulette, How are you? I just read an article about Lost Maples in the Texas Highways Magazine. They say there can be a two hour wait to enter the park on fall weekends. I am sure we will have lots of fun even if we have to wait! See you there.

Hi Paulette,
Great to have you here! Your mention of Bastrop caught my attention. I'm hoping to take a mixed age group of Girl Scouts up to the State Park in Jan. Is there anything there we should make sure we DON'T miss? This would include any interesting outdoor related side tours you would recommend in the area.
