A great way to start Thanksgiving Day! If you're not cooking or you only need to cook a small bird, this hike will allow for great exercise and time to cook the bird. We'll start early so we can get done early. We can be done by 11:30 to 12:00 pm with a good pace and a small break.
And you can bring your leashed dog too! (if you want)
Hike Length: around 8 miles
Elevation gain:about 1,000 ft.
Join us for a moderate hike in Upper Las Virgenes Preserve and Cheeseboro Canyon. I love this hike because it's a great workout with some beautiful scenery. We'll have time for a refreshment break at some point a little before the half-way mark.

We will start at the northern end of Las Virgenes Rd and hike for about 3 hours. We'll traverse a ridge trail past the Baleen Wall to Shepherd's flat and then turn east along a beautiful less traveled trail back to the Las Virgenes trail.
Bring water and snacks! Binoculars , too, if you have them. If you want to bring your dog, it's fine as long as the pooch is leashed.
Directions: To get to trailhead take 101 and exit Las Virgenes Rd. Turn north (away from beach) to end of road. If you are coming up from PCH, drive up Malibu Canyon to the end (Malibu Cyn changes its name to Las Virgenes Rd). The trailhead is marked clearly. Park on the street. If you can't park near the trailhead, just look for space down the street. We'll wait until you walk to the trailhead.
Parking is free.
I will collect the $1 at the trailhead.
