Welcome to TRREC Plus: Tougher Trails, an extension of Greenville's Trail and River Rovers of East Carolina (TRREC).

TRREC Plus is for TRREC members who want to spend more time on the trails, engaging in activities that require greater experience, and more specialized skills and equipment. While our original TRREC group is open to all skill levels, TRREC Plus requires prior experience with intermediate TRREC activities, and may even require prior experience with advanced level TRREC events. Many of these events are multi-day excursions.

The plan is for this site to cover our more exacting backpacks and paddles. Expect a few events per year, with most of our time being spent on the original TRREC site.

We want to keep this simple, so here's how it works: In the interest of safety, TRREC Plus membership must be approved. You will be approved for membership if you are a TRREC member and meet the TRREC Plus requirements for backpacking, the TRREC Plus requirements for paddling, or both. Your member "title" will be Backpacker, Paddler, or both depending on what event types you qualify for.

Furthermore, the final approval of an individual's participation in any specific event is always at the discretion of the organizer of that event.
