Howell Woods, part of Johnston Community College, has about 13 miles of bike trails. Let's ride 8-10 of them. You need a trail bike for this ride. The terrain is flat and double-track. Wild boars roam the area but they have run away each time I have been near them. Lots of nature to observe as we ride. Helmets required. MapQuest shows that this location is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Greenville. One day I will post a camping trip here; this is your chance to check it out! $5 fee to ride; pay when you get there. Try to have exact change because we have to leave it in a drop box.
This property is prime bird-watching territory and also has a picnic shelter. If anybody wants to go early, let me know.
