Had a great time on thw water assisting the swimmers over to Radio Island safely. Very inspiring to see the final few swimmers push themselves to complete the swim. Then go on to finish the race. The guy in last place may of not been fast, but he made to the end.I very happy for him. Also enjoyed the the paddle around Carrott Island and seeing the horses. A GREAT day all around.

Like last year, this was a great event to attend. The channel was quite a challenge for the swimmers, and it became obvious why we were there. Many just needed encouragement to keep on a straight course, but others were grateful that we were there with the "noodles" to give them a break when they became exhausted. It was a lesson in strength and dedication to see them claim the beach, and head on to the bicycles for the next leg. Afterwards, us dedicated paddlers did a trip around Carrot Island, saw some beautiful scenery, and, of course, the wild horses.

It was a lot of fun with a serious purpose...helping to guide the swimmers who frequently went the wrong way and to help those who couldn't make it(four I believe)...good call by Greg Cornelius and Brian was a hoot as usual!...Frank C. Jones
