Managing Records in SharePoint

Join us in an informative demonstration of Records Management solution built entirely in SharePoint. Michael Brik and Ian Taylor from Orangutech ( will present the SharePoint Records Management solution deployed at one of their clients.

Michael Brik – Michael is an active member and contributor to Toronto SharePoint Community. Michael is working with SharePoint Technology since the early 2001 at different roles and organizations to help his clients achieve the best SharePoint implementation. For the last year he is acting as a Chief Technology Officer for Orangutech. Orangutech is a Canadian SharePoint consulting company with a growing presence in the GTA and Ottawa markets specializing in ECM, Records Management and Custom workflows.

Ian Taylor - Ian has been working in the IT industry for 15 years as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Disaster Recovery Coordinator and SharePoint Consultant. He has spent the first 10 years of his career working for Financial Institutions in Toronto, Canada. In the past 5 years, Ian’s focus has been on SharePoint. Working with SharePoint 2007, 2010 and now 2013, Ian has successfully implemented SharePoint collaboration sites, Intranet Portals, public facing Internet sites and large document and records management solutions. Ian is currently engaged with the Toronto Transit Commission delivering an Enterprise Document and Records Management solution for their 5000+ employees.

    Great presentation from Ian Taylor re setting up SharePoint in a large organization - good points and trouble points. I would also like to thank the organization which allowed Ian to use them as the main source for the presentation - yes it is a public organization but still many do not allow their processes etc to be discussed.
