Mini Presentation: Understanding Misalignments in Software Development

This is a short (15 min) session which explores six misalignments that have been observed within organizations that put the work we do in traditional software dev projects at odds with how we do it.  The resulting frictions between people and process accumulate to put a drag on our productivity, morale and purpose in what we do.  The intent of this session is to engage attendees in a brief thought-exercise on this to gauge their perceptions of these misalignments and the small behavioural and process changes that can bring about relief (aka agile/iterative/lean).

Presented by Chris Chapman

Chris is the President and Chief Scrum Master of Derailleur Consulting, Inc., a Toronto-based consultancy that helps software development organizations and teams realign how they deliver solutions using agile frameworks like Scrum.  Previously, he was a consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services Canada specializing in SharePoint solution architecture and development in the Information Worker division.

Main Presentation: Introduction to SharePoint 2013 Social Features

Social gets a huge boost in SharePoint 2013. This latest release brings new functionalities that enhance what SharePoint 2010 had to offer.

We'll cover majority of the social enterprise features offered and see what value they will provide your organization. More importantly how you can encourage your visitors to take advantage of these social features.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
