Ellie Caulkins Opera House (map)
We'll have an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, while sharing a walking conversation that is a continuation of the conversation of the Americas Roundtable on Health. This roundtable was organized by the Biennial of the Americas as a part of a July month-long series of events in the Denver metro area with participants from 35-different countries in North, Central and South America. Topic-Talk Walks is a partnering group with the Health Care for All Colorado (HCAC)[ organization for both the Americas Roundtable on Health, and our walking conversation.
if you plan to attend the Thursday, July 8, 2010, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM "Americas Roundtable on Health" in the DCPA's Ellie Caulkins Opera House, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO "DISCOUNT TICKETS FOR AMERICAS ROUNDTABLE ON HEALTH'"

On the HCAC website are pictures of the many-yards-long roll of muslin representing a Brick Road titled "The Road to Hell(th) is paved with good intentions". On each brick, HCAC supporters have been writing the name, age and cause of death of people they know who have died and/or lived in chronic poor health as a result of being uninsured or underinsured.
STARTING POINT at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) at the information screen in front of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House (950 13th St, Denver, CO 80204), we'll walk to the waterfall at Confluence Park, and stop to eat about 5:00 PM at the Sarbucks in the REI Flagship off of the Platte River (1416 Platte Street, Denver CO 80202). After eating, we'll go for a short walk loop around Commons Park, and then walk back to the DCPA.
I have included pictures of our meeting location at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and views of along our walk in the photo album for this walking conversation event.

PARKING: For those attending the DCPA Americas Roundtable on Health in the morning, they may prefer to purchase a parking pass in the DCPA parking lot. There is also free parking in the REI underground parking lot in Confluence Park, which is the mid-point destination of our walk, where we'll stop to eat on the Starbuck's patio.
The Americas Roundtable on Health - Transnational Threats: In almost all countries in the Americas, chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer have now replaced communicable diseases as the leading causes of illness and death. Obesity is an underlying cause of many of these diseases. What incentives can governments and companies provide to combat these transnational threats?
Christina Everist who is the lead volunteer for the Americas Roundtables told me that if I could keep track of 25 paid HCAC $5 tickets, the Biennial of Americas would offer a matching 25 FREE HCAC Tickets.
Instead of a "Group Code", Christina is asking everyone to sign up for the Discount by selecting a ticket category of "Senior", "Student" or "Military". You'll only see the $5 rate specified when you get to the payment screen (not before). Topic-Talk Walks is one of the partner groups with the HCAC group. All the tickets will look the same as if you had paid the regular $12 adult rate.
Please help me keep track of our HCAC paid tickets so that we can qualify for 25 additional FREE HCAC TICKETS by calling or emailing me (Fran Rew) with your ticket confirmation number. My home phone number is [masked]. My HCAC email for receiving (but not sending) emails for the HCAC roundtable tickets is ][masked]. My TTW email address for only the FREE TTW walking conversation with HCAC is ][masked].
Our Topic-Talk Walks group is partnering with the Health Care for All Colorado (HCAC)[ group for this event. I'll arrive at 8:00 AM, on Thursday, July 8, to stand with an HCAC sign, and a Topic-Talk Walks pennant and save seats for people who have called or emailed me to RSVP. I will save seats in the closest available central area row in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. I'll put HCAC handouts on each seat for each person who has RSVP'd. Everyone will have a choice to either sit together as a group in the saved row, or sit separately in other general admission areas.
