Wings Museum Volunteers will meet us at 8:00 AM, in front of the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, under the B-52 nicknamed BUFF - Big Ugly Fat Fellow. This bomber first flew in 1954, and versions have been flying ever since with the Strategic Air Command. Please bring a couple of your favorite paper airplanes, and we'll bring extra paper and paper airplanes (from many designs) to give away. We will be leaving no later than 8:15 AM.
The Wings Volunteers will lead us with our paper airplanes eastward to The Great Lawn park in the Lowry neighborhood. In the park, we'll fly the paper airplanes and discover what we explored in our walking conversation about their different aerodynamic designs. This walking conversation is a collaborative event with Meetup.com group Museum Muser .
We will return to our starting point at the museum by 9:45 AM. If you decide to visit the Wings museum, there will be many volunteers to assist you on this monthly open cockpit day.

It’s only 1.5 miles round-trip, walking to and from the Wings Museum, and around the Great Lawn park, including visiting the Reading Garden (on the return trip). For those who would rather park next to the picnic gazebo, where we will be flying the paper airplanes, here is a link to a map photo of the park , with markings for the picnic gazebo area, and locations for nearby parking. A Google map for the Wings Museum is at TinyURL.com/WingsWalkMap. Bathrooms and a playground are next to the picnic gazebo.
