Service Projects at Serve the City

Come out and volunteer with me at Life Center Church. There will be many volunteer opportunities (that have nothing to do with religion) that are just about helping the people of Tacoma. Come out. Serve the City. Make friends of all ages and religious beliefs. You don't have to be religious to attend, however everyone will be expected to follow the golden rule and treat everyone with kindness. :)

Meet in front of Life Center at 6:45 PM. Inside the building, there will be people standing holding signs to let you choose which opportunity speaks to you. Last event, there were many opportunities ranging from weed pulling, creating gift baskets and care packages, serving food to the homeless, and attending a cooking class with pregnant teens.

Most projects wrap up between 8 and 8:15. We'll all gather in the lobby at that time. After the event, we will meet for a pint of beer and/or food at Masa before heading home.

As before mentioned, this is an event at a Christian church, but you can be of any religious background to attend. Respect is the expectation. Personally, I'm agnostic and I've always had a great time at these. If you have any concerns or questions, please post them here or email me and I'll be happy to respond!

**Those with children are welcome to bring them to the service project. However, the bar is 21+. If you have friends/family that are 40+, they are welcome to both the service projects and the bar if you would like to invite them. The more, the merrier when we're giving back to the community.

Meet me in front of the building at 6:45, unless you choose to go to the worship service at 6:30. The plan is to meet in front, go our different ways for the projects, and reconvene at Masa afterward. I will email you all that have said yes with my cell number in case you need anything.

Is it going to be like last month were there was so many people there was nothing to do?

Sorry you had a negative experience last time. There's no way to know in advance how many people will attend, since we are only a fraction of all that participate.

Life Center holds these every month, usually on the second Tuesday.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
