    Guys, thought of this in the morning. Maybe we should put 2 teams together - one playing Axis, and one playing Allies.... and start a rivalry with Portland , and play 2 teams they put on the opposite side!
    We could do one annually sometime in summer every year, and it could become a derby like the Sounders/Timbers kinda thing.
    Anyone interested?!

    November 30, 2013

    • Andrew

      I would be open to an annual challenge against Portland.

    Sorry for the delayed response - been very busy. Three games were played; (1) AA50, (1) 1940 Europe and (1) 1940 Pacific. It was an bad day for the Axis with two Allied wins with the third game being a tie (draw).

    Thank you to all who came for a fun day of gaming.

    AA50: Allied Victory
    Russia - Preston (then Andrew)
    UK/USA - Andrew
    Japan - Ram
    Germany/Italy - Garth

    1940 Pacific: Allied Victory
    Japan - Jonathon
    USA/China - Robbie
    UK/Anzac - Timothy (Limothy)

    1940 Europe: Draw on Turn 15 (?)
    Germany/Italy - Robbie
    Russia/France - Timothy
    UK/US - Jonathon

    Loved it.

    Loved it. Andrew was a great host . Game was good, although all the nations were in there , the European Axis was barely hanging on. Game was called at the end of round 9.

    Was nice meeting the new folks. Also was nice to play with folks who could really bust a turn out -- the Europe game was going on turn 15 I think when we called it.

    I probably won't be there right at noon... I'm thinking I'll be there around 12:30 or 1:00... depending on how traffic is. Remember, I'm coming from Whidbey Island, lol.

    I have another son-in-law who is going to be joining us. Since they both, James and Preston, are new to the game I have promised them that I will play with them and coach/teach them the game. Limothy I hope it is all right with you if Preston takes the US and you take your original second choice of Germany. Or you could join the second game if you want. As the first person who RSVP'd you get first choice.

    Right now the second game is a minimum of 3 Players and could be 4 Players if Italy and Germany is played by the same Player in the AA50 game. So my guesstimate right now is...

    Game 1 AA50 Big Board:
    Japan: Ram
    Germany: Limothy
    Italy: ??? (Limothy or Jonathon)

    Russia: James
    UK: Andrew
    USA: Preston

    Game 2: Europe 1940? Pacific 1940? AA50 (I have a second normal board)
    Damian
    Garth
    Jonathon
    Robbie

    Does Japan go first?! Since its the 1942 version?!

    November 28, 2013

    • Andrew

      Yes, Japan goes first. Turn order is Japan, Russia, Germany, UK, Italy and US/China

    Do we observe these rules too? :

    Found these rules... and suppose we go by these:

    Thought i'd check

      Those links are the official rules and the official FAQ. Yes we observe those rules with the lone exception that game victory is 14 Victory Cities, not 15.

    If we're going to have 2 or 3 people playing another game, I can bring Star Wars X-Wing as well. It's a relatively simple yet awesome realtime miniatures game with the best most detailed miniatures I've seen in a game. In this game, it actually matters how you maneuver your ships, which way they're facing, how far away they are, etc. What's different from other strategy games is that everyone locks in their moves on counters, and moves their pieces during the same phase of each round. So you don't get to see your opponent move, and then plan your move... you have to anticipate. The individual skills and attributes of each pilot matter as well. I have about 20 ships now, so I have plenty to choose from.

      Off hand I can think of these... Battleships repair at the end of EVERY Turn. China may place as many units in a territory as they want as long as the territory starts with 2 or less. No Kamikazes. Dardanelles are open. Everyone starts at war immediately.

      November 27, 2013

    • Andrew

      We play 14 Victory Cities wins the game.

      November 27, 2013

  • Ram I.

    I shall bring some Indian snacks - samosas :) If Robbie breaks off, can I be Japan?!! :)

    Trying to be good at at least one of the powers... practice makes perfect.

    November 26, 2013

    • Jonathan

      I think people are only breaking off if we get two more folks committed to showing up.

      November 26, 2013

    • Andrew

      I think if I am reading this correctly Robbie has already volunteered to break off into a game with Damian of either Europe 1940 or Pacific 1940. If anyone else wants to break off to join that 1v1 game that is fine.

      November 27, 2013

  • Robin

    I'd be down to break off into a game of[masked]e if anyone else is interested. Eur, Pac, or both doesn't matter to me. If you don't like my pieces you can play in the A&A50 game.

    November 23, 2013

    • Jonathan

      Same. Good for whatever.

      November 25, 2013

  • Andrew

    If we can get 1 more Player than we can do two games of 4 people each. First choice for the Big Board would be those who signed up first. Unless someone wants to be a single Player against two Players so they have more to do. Also we could do a second 1 v 1 game with lots of choices as I have Battle of the Bulge, D-Day, Guadalcanal and more.

    November 23, 2013

  • Damian A.

    I'd be in for a 2nd game... but I'm not going to rock the boat if there's not enough to support 2 games :)

    November 22, 2013

    • Jonathan

      Moar bodies! Moar games!

      November 22, 2013

  • Jonathan

    The wife told me I could have the day off, so I'm in. UK or Japan are my normal preferences these days, but I'll play whatever (even scrawny Italy).

    November 18, 2013

    • Andrew

      Desserts? Of course!

      November 18, 2013

    • Jonathan

      My wife has approved of my master plan to A) dispose of the leftover desserts without them going to waste and B) lull you all into a sugar coma prior to Italian domination of the world. Prepare for fancy uniforms!

    As it stands right now.
    Japan = Robbie
    Germany = Ram
    Italy = Jonathon
    Russia = James
    UK = Andrew
    US = Limothy

    Okay we have a full house for Game 1. If enough additional people want to play we can have a second game of whatever people want to play. I have most of the AA variants.

    November 18, 2013

  • Ram I.

    OK. Germany will work! :) Thanks.

    November 18, 2013

  • Ram I.

    I would like to play the last spot if possible :)

    November 18, 2013

    • Jonathan

      Ram, was nice meeting you this weekend at ConTac. In the upper right hand corner of the page for the meetup there's a button for RSVPing. That reserves you a spot.

      November 18, 2013

  • Jonathan

    Oh, if you want to do more than one game (I know you have the room) I can bring stuff with. I don't have AA50, but I do have the 40 stuff and the original Europe/Pacific.

    November 18, 2013

  • Andrew

    From Ram's Profile I am guessing he would prefer Germany as he likes to play the Axis. :)

    Also Ram would you please RSVP "yes" for the session? Thanks....

    November 18, 2013

  • Andrew

    So Limothy if you could nail down which Power you want, USA or Germany, than Ram can have the other one or if you don't care between the two than perhaps Ram can pick which one he wants of the two. Italy is also still open though usually that is best for a new Player as it does not have a lot to do. If we do not get an Italian Player than the German Player will control Italy too.

    Welcome aboard Ram!

    November 18, 2013

  • Andrew

    Welcome Aboard Limothy! AA[masked] allows for 6 players and counting you we are at 4 so far.

    November 17, 2013

    Japan = Robbie
    Germany = open
    Italy = open

    Russia = James
    United Kingdom = Andrew

  • Jake N.

    November 14, 2013

  • Jonathan

    Not sure if I can make it or not. If I can I'll bring your water bottle with.

    November 13, 2013

  • Robin

    I still owe you for pizza. I'll call Japan.

    November 13, 2013

  • Andrew

    If anyone wants a specific Power please say so. First come first served.
