We never got to the new (improved) 2nd edition of A&A 42, so here's our chance! Check out this short video on this new edition-
I've got two copies, so we can have two games going if need be...and as usual, I'll have grub, etc.
Hope to see you there!

It was fun to get to try out the newest version of A&A. My first impression of the 'new' antiaircraft piece is it is the same antiaircraft piece as always, only now less cool. And I think we all agree it will be interesting to compare the setup of this game to the setup of the 'last' 2nd edition game. Although several battles between myself and my valiant Russian opponents really came down to a few bad or good dice rolls either way, I think both of us felt that the German numerical advantage was a bit overwhelming right from the start. Taking Moscow in three turns without any mistakes by the Russians seems off. I definitely am looking forward to flipping the board around and doing a rematch from the Allies side now to really start to get a feel for the balancing issues. I also think that it was a bit silly of the game makers to make the board so much bigger--WITHOUT making any of the small areas that were a problem any bigger. New 3rd Edition--now with MORE wasted space!

Jake was Germany, Pat was Japan, Gavin the USSR, Dan was Great Britain and Gavin and Dan shared the USA. The AXIS came on strong - Russia was unable to withstand the onslaught of the the Pacific, Japan slowly but surely took over the Asian Mainland- India fell to a combined Japanese, German attack. There were several large US vs. Japan naval battles at Midway and Pearl Harbor and though they blunted the Imperial Navy, Japan still held command of the Pacific. The Axis won with a 9 city victory!

On the way! Tremble, Allies, for thy doom is upon you! (Assuming thy doom is not held up in traffic on the 5, that is.)
