Monthly presentation at the Mountaineers Clubhouse

Branch Open
House and Special Presentation - "Chilliwack Slam" - Climbing Six Remote Top 100
Peaks in the North Cascades, Starting at 7PM, November 22, 2013

7 PM - Come see our great orientation show of the programs and courses offered by the Tacoma Mountaineers. We welcome new members, prospects and friends. Learn about the Mountaineers activities: climbing and scrambling, sea kayaking, skiing,
snowshoeing, hiking, social & family activities, first aid, sailing,
navigation, avalanche training, and more. This will be a chance to visit with
committee people in activities of interest to you.

7:45 PM - After more
than a year of planning, four Tacoma Mountaineers set off this July for a 7 day
trip in the remote and wild Chilliwack Range, located at the north end of the
North Cascades National Park. Curt Baxtrom, Tyler Farr, Nelson Hamre and Dan
Lauren had the lofty goal of climbing all 6 of the Top 100 peaks in the area --
Mt. Spickard (8979;), Mt. Redoubt (8956'), NW Twin Spire - Easy Mox (8407'), SE
Twin Spire - Hard Mox (8504'), Mt. Rahm (8480'), and Mt. Custer (8630'). Known
for relentless weather, rugged terrain, poor rock with little protection, and
remoteness, accomplishing all 6 peaks in one trip has likely never occurred and
will rarely be repeated. Join Tyler Farr and Dan Lauren as they tell the story
of their awe inspiring journey.

The renovated Tacoma Program Center now has an indoor
climbing wall! We will open the doors at 6:45 pm to allow interested parties to
view our new facilities!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
