Camping at Fort Casey
We are going in with South Sound Singles Meetup group with renting three campsites on the water at Ft. Casey. This state park has flush toilets and pay showers. This works well for novice campers. A tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress will be your basic needs. (Mountaineers always bring their 10 essentials).
We normally cook as a group and will figure out the food list later. They can provide good food for about $25 for three days. They will also have enough cooking equipment for the whole group.
There are some hiking trails and the island is quite scenic. There are major gun turrets and a light house to tour. Our campsites are right by the Port Townsend to Whidbey Island Ferry Dock. We are planning on spending Sat. afternoon riding the ferry to Port Townsend as walk-ons. We can walk around Port Townsend and have dinner before returning to our campsite.
Many people will want to carpool and we can work that out closer to the event. We are charging a $25 camping fee to RSVP and $25 before the event for food. People are welcome to do their own food and come and go as they choose. Jim Manning, our host, will be leaving Thurs. morning, but many people will be coming after work Friday.
You can show interest on this site but you can only go when you pay $25 to secure your name on the camping list on the following link: http://www.meetup.com/south-sound-singles/events/96350902/
Only 25 sites available! See You There! Karen
