Annie, After you sign up for Baker let me know what time you want to leave and I'll set you up with a driver's phone number.
Thanks
Karen

thanks, Karen.  I"ll see you there.  I'm happy to drive, myself, if someone could get up here.  Or even to the Greenlake P&R in north Seattle, which lets cars park for 72 hrs.  I just don't believe in going that far by yourself.  I have an electric car as well as a Subaru wagon, but my electric car doesn't have enough range for Mt Baker.

Hi Annie,

There's still space open for the Baker trip. I could send the word out that you need a ride and maybe someone from Tacoma could swing by? Also, when you sign up there is a carpool registration but sometimes they send their info out too late, like the day before.  And you're right, I have no control over the food but I always bring something yummy to add to their dinner.
Hope to see you at Baker and keep me posted.

Hi, Karen.  I was on your wonderful Whistler trip last year, had a great time.  Loved your food!  But this doesn't look like you're doing it - it's the lodge, right?

Is there still space for this trip?  I've never been up there.

I live in Burien.  Is there anyone from south Seattle that's going up on this weekend, for carpooling?
Thanks.

Mt. Baker Singles Weekend Sept. 21st through the 23rd.

I got us a better price!  The new amount is Members $59.00 / Non-members $75.00

Call the Clubhouse to register at (206)[masked] or through on line registration at www.mountaineers.orgSign up is open now  Look for the Outdoor Centers tab/search by date and register.

The lodge usually is open by 5 p.m. on Friday. Trail lights from the parking lot to the lodge are on until 10:30 each night.

This trip includes breakfast Sat. & Sun. and a hearty dinner Saturday evening after a fun day of hiking and exploring. Bring your own lunch for Saturday on the trail. Not up for hiking? Bringing a good book or laptop and enjoying the slow pace and a quiet getaway is good too.

What to bring: A flashlight or headlamp, personal recreational gear, hiking boots and poles, a warm sleeping bag and jacket, pillow, your usual personal items and towel. Ear plugs are recommended for light sleepers.

See pictures of the Lodge for yourself at http://www.mountaineers.org/lodge/baker/ .

The Mountaineers own a lodge on top of Mt. Baker in Bellingham, WA  with wonderful hiking on a great variety of trails. Or relax with a good book in the quiet setting of the evergreens.  Numerous trails are within walking distance or a short drive from the Lodge. Artist Point is just 3 miles away at the end of a paved road with panoramic views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Shuksan, and the North Cascades. Trails usually are completely snow-free by mid-September, giving even inexperienced hikers access to some of the most spectacular scenery in the Pacific Northwest. Early fall provides all the above plus fine blueberry picking, so bring your containers. At night the stars are closer than you've ever seen before!
