Blackberry Brigade! We'll be digging up, mulching out, and otherwise managing the abundant harvest of blackberry roots on the property! (They are actually medicinal if anyone wants to process them).
We'll meet at the Gathering Area near E. 42nd and E. Roosevelt at 10am, and start with a plant walk. If you arrive later you'll miss the walk but can join us in work at the Food Forest site, just south of the Community Garden.
Please bring water and snacks for yourself (We're trying to round up more). And if you can, also bring gloves, shovels, loppers, and garden forks, and remember to mark your tools so they don't walk away!
Permaculture design creates abundant, low-maintenance, deliciously edible and self-renewing gardens. Come learn techniques and processes that Permaculture uses as it applies to Swan Creek Park Food Forest. Not only will your contributions guide the food forest’s implementation, you’ll also learn skills that are easily transferred to other garden projects at home.
